Bone Marrow Edema on MRI– what does it mean??

How can a doctor tell if the MRI findings are bone marrow edema and not cancer?

Wegener’s Granulomatosis

My grandmother recently passed away from Wegener’s in March 2008. She had went to a lung specialist for ten years or more with the diagnosis of COPD, even though she never smoked. I find that research does not know the cause and there really isn’t a genetic link. However, my grandmother’s brother died from Wegener’s a year before her. Is this a disorder that is often misdiagnosed or rather under diagnosed?

Vitamin D and Rheumatoid ARthritis

I was first diagnosed with sero-negative RA approx 8 years ago. After 7 years of methotrexate (1 mil injections) supplemented with Arava and the usual medications my RA continuted to get worse and I’ve had no remissions. So, last year I stopped all DMARDs in favour of Vitamin D (100,000 IU per month). Whilst this has had no effect on my RA (it’s now in every joint except one) I have noticed a marked improvement in my ability to sleep – now getting 5-6 hours per night rather than 2-3, which has resulted in me being able to handle the pain better (rather than it improving). Is there any news on the benefit of vitamin D – my Rheumatologist says in large quantities it has a proven anti-flammatory factor, hence her agreement to let me try it.

How much ibuprofen?

After trying several blood pressure medications, I began taking Nadolol (40 mg) about three years ago. While it works wonderfully for my blood pressure, I have headaches every day. I wake up with a headache, and it will continue all day – not a screaming headache, but constant, dull pain. I understand this type of medication is supposed to help with headaches. For relief, I usually take three to six Motrin. Would prefer to take Motrin every day, but am so afraid of what it will do to my stomach that I opt to have the headache every other day. How often can I take the Motrin without worrying about side effects. I know you can’t say with certainty, but would like a “ball park” opinion. Thank you.

What is seronegative arthritis?

what is zero negative arthritis ?

Uveitis – what treatment?

I have been diagnosed with uveitis. This has gone on for 19 years. Not continues but flareups maybe once a month. I have had all of the tests done, many times. I have been on oral prednisone for over a year now. 10mgs. everyother day. Is there vitimans and herbs that can be used, instead of the prednisone. My next step per my doctore will be methotrexate. I would rather try to control this with vitimans and herbs if possible.
