Fatigue and RA

I was diagnosed with RA at 19 and have had pretty good luck over the past 12 years with the help of wonderful rheumatologists who have overseen my use of Methotrexate and Humira. It’s only been within the last year that I am abnormally exhausted. Sure, I’m a mom of a 5 year old and 2 year old, work full time and take no prisoners when it comes to the day to day grind, but who doesn’t and who isn’t? Is there some sort of plateau that one hits with their energy levels? I can’t seem to shake the fatigue and am starting to wonder if it’s a normal part of RA. Thanks for all that you do! Jennifer

Levaquin and tendons

Sorry, I thought I was asking the following question: About 2 months ago I was on a 7 day presc for Levaquin. I started having pain in outside of right foot whenever I stood on it. To the point that I had to use my walker again (had knee replacement surgery Oct29,09). Is it possible the Levaquin has caused this tendon problem. It is in the outside of my rt ankle & very painful to walk on. Thanks

Your web site refers to an article for a list of food high in purines. Where pray tell is the list hidden?

Infections and Biologic Agents

My husband is scheduled for a Rituxan infusion tomorrow. He has a cold — not a terrible cold but, nevertheless, a cold. Should he reschedule the infusion??? Thanks for your time! I appreciate it! Best regards~ jeanne

Elevated SED Rate and Polymyalgia Rheumatica

My sed rate was slightly elevated and my symptoms were consistent with polymalgia rheumatica according to my Dr. I was on 10 mg of prednisone for a few weeks with good results, then 5 mg prednisone then 5mg every other day. Altogether the treatment was about 3 months. I have been off the prednisone for a few days and my symptoms seem to be returning. Is this usual.? I am upset with the possible side effects of the drug and would prefer not to go on it again. At a low dose would I be subject to problems if the need arises?

Myositis? Elevated CPK

Hello, I’m a 33 year old male suffering from symmetrical muscle pain and chronic fatigue (both seem post-exertional, but are prolonged). CK levels were recorded at 9500 this summer but have since gone back to normal levels after discontinuing exercise. ANA and RF were negative. EMG was normal and Nerve studies apparently showed some minor abnormalities. Would this be a likely case of metabolic myopathy vs. polymyositis? Would a muscle biopsy be my best bet at this point? Thank you.
