Switching TNF inhibitors

Hello, My doc is recommending I switch from Humira to Remicade to better control my RA. Can I expect better results from Remicade? The RA recently ruptured four extension tendons in my right hand. I just had surgery on those and am being told that if the disease isn’t better controlled that my left hand will most likely follow suit. Is moving to Remicade a reasonable course of action? Thanks.

Psoriatic arthritis and TNF inhibitor drugs

I am 30 and was diagnosed last year with psoriatic arthritis. The arthitis is in my big toes bilat and hands. I have tried methotrexate – it did nothing, Humira – I developed an injection site reaction after 5 mo on it, it was working great but I began having 8 in wide and 1/4 in high welts at the site that itched and burned. I have been off any medication for 3 mo. I am unsure how I should continue, I have very minimal flairs currently compaired to when I was first diagnosed. Do I start another TNF, or do I wait and see? I am an RN and work in ICU. I am concerned of the risks of lowering my immune system VS long term damage? I am worried about the long term effects of the TNF’s?

Elevated CPK and Working Out

I just received a call from my doctor and he said that my CPK levels have been elevated. He didn’t say how high they were or how i can lower them. I have been working out a lot lately as well as the workouts have been picking up in intensity. I haven’t been having any pain in my muscles and aside from being sore a day or 2 after workouts, I feel fine. Is there any way that I can bring them down?

Infusion reactions

I’ve got RA and tried rituximab. Got 1/3 of the way through the infusion and had a reation of wheezing/urticaria so it was D/C’ed. Would the same thing happen if I took abatacept?

Rituxan (rituximab) for rheumatoid arthritis

I have read about a new drug for RA. Rituxan ( rituximab ) I would like to have more info on this drug and it’s side affects. Have been on methotrexate 2MG tabs.4 tabs once a week. I could not take it, my lungs kept filling with fluid and my primary Dr. took me off of it. I am hoping to find another drug that won’t be as hard on my system.Would appreciated any info you may have on Rituxam.
