Rheumatologist in Morgantown West Virginia

My brother lives in West Virginia and is having symptoms that have been preliminarily diagnosed as osteoarthritis. However, the physicians in the small town where he lives are unequipped to handle his treatment. Is there any physician in Morgantown that you can recommend he visit for further evaluation and treatment?

Importance of placement of knee injection needle!

Have heard that injecting a jelly/gel like material into the knee relieves pain in knee arthritis. Are these injections painful? Some people do get reactions, swelling, pain after such injections. Do such reactions occur due to incorrect placement of needles of injection? What is the criteria for the doctor? Does a doctor have to have experience to put the injection in the right place, how does he confirm the placement?

Reducing Swelling from Osteoarthritis

I am an active 62 yr. old…taught Physical Education for 30 years..active in tennis..about a year ago my fingers on my right hand have become swollen and I cannot bend them.. also have cartledge build up on middle finger and index finger..since I have been playing golf, seems worse..and the fingers ache at night..what can I do to reduce the swelling?

UniSpacer surgery for Knee Oseoarthritis

I am only 39 and recently diagnosed with moderate to severe osteoarthritis in the medial compartment and under the kneecap of my knee. The orthopedic dr. states the only way to “fix” my knee is a total knee replacement but that is not even a possibility for another 10-15 years due to my age. Arthroscopic debridement, medication, exercise and losing weight is not decreasing my pain. What do you think of using unloading braces such as the Breg X2K Counterforce Knee Brace and the UniSpacer surgery for decreasing pain with the osteoarthritis until I’m old enough for replacement?
