General Arthritis Q & A

Can carpal tunnel be caused by a heat source?

How many left handed laptop users complain about carpal tunnel as opposed to right handed ?(I realize there are fewer left handed to begin with)  I have noticed a damaging kind of heat coming from the battery or hard drive under my right hand, also a stiffening of the tendons which seems to shift among my  fingers and seems more a reaction to the computer which is hot under the right hand; thus my question: is it possible the tightening of the tendons is due not to use but to the effect of being too close to the machinery?

Could Levaquin cause Osteoporosis or Osteonecrosis?

I had to be on 35 days of Levaquin during a course of lumpectomy and catheter insertion for mammosite delivery surgery because of a strept infection. Since then I have had pain & difficulty walking, have now been diagnosed with osteoporosis, osteonecrosis and despite ingesting 500iu per day of vitamin D only test to having 14 ng. Could the levaquin be the culprit, as I am only 44 and despite the isolated 5mm DCIS breast tumor was basically healthy?
