Methotrexate as a Treatment for Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis

Is methotrexate used to treat psoriasis and/or psoriatic arthritis?

Answer

Yes, methotrexate can be used to treat both psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. In patients with psoriatic arthritis, methotrexate can be used in combination with biologic therapy (TNF-alpha inhibitors) if necessary to control both skin and joint disease.
